What is a Wiki?

A wiki is a simple webpage that can be edited by anyone with membership to the wiki. The 'wikispace' software provided by WI allows teachers to quickly create an online space which can be accessed by their students and/or other teachers. Wikis are often collaborative in nature allowing all members to contribute to, edit and organise the contents of the wiki.

The most well-known wiki is the online collaborative encyclopedia, Wikipedia. According to Wikipedia, a wiki is "a page or collection of Web pages designed to enable anyone who accesses it to contribute or modify content." (see full entry)
